No-exam life insurance

Eligibility for fast-track approval, the approval steps, and what happens if you are not eligible.

Many carriers now offer fast underwriting: people within age and amount limits get decisions based on the application, prescription records, driving history and other data—no exam needed. Some say yes the same day. Each quote notes whether the product requires an exam, possibly requires one, or is exam-free.

What it changes

Accelerated underwriting cuts the exam, but not the verification. What you answer is checked; if it later turns out to be false, the carrier can deny a claim within 24 months. They may ask for an exam if something in their records raises questions; you decide whether to continue.

Who tends to qualify

Commonly, those under 60 applying for standard limits with clean medical history and no tobacco in the prior 12 months. Several carriers accept recent lab results from a physician visit instead of a new exam.

An exam, if needed, usually takes 20-30 minutes at your Fairfield-area home or workplace. A paramedic conducts it, and it's free. When results are strong, they can improve your rate class, so exams often help, not hurt.
